Tonight the 'old' company of Jim Vincent: Hubbard Street Dance Company
The Hubbard Street Dance Company - where Jim Vincent was Artistic Director from 2000 - performes tonight the choreographies Gnawa by Nacho Duato, Off Screen by Alejandro Cerrudo and a worldpremiere by Jorma Elo and Slipstream by Vincent himself.
Jim Vincent is an honorary guest at the anniversary on two counts. Not only is he presenting his work Slipstream, but he is also being welcomed to the Netherlands as the new artistic director of Nederlands Dans Theater - even though it feels like a homecoming to him.
Besides his own work, Vincent has selected three other pieces especially for the anniversary, also by ex-NDT choreographers: Gnawa by Nacho Duato, Off Screen by Alejandro Cerrudo and a world premiere by Jorma Elo. The dancers of Hubbard Street Dance Company will perform the pieces with freshness, athleticism and stylish theatricality.
