Holland Dance Festival Gala
SOURCE OF INSPIRATION
The Holland Dance Festival Gala promises to be a truly unique evening. The programme has strong links to the festival's theme, Source of Inspiration, and comprises a selection of the very best that dance has to offer. You can look forward, for instance, to performances by the international dance legend Sylvie Guillem and the wonderfully sexy dance couple Drew Jacoby and Rubinald Pronk, who are currently based in New York.
But the Dutch dance companies are also performing lots of special works for the gala, such as Introdans with the hypnotic In Memoriam by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Nederlands Dans Theater 2 with the infectious Shutters Shut by Lightfoot/Leon. The gala is also presenting a unique performance of Moor's Pavane by Jose Limon, danced by the Limon Dance Company from New York. This masterpiece from 1949 still enjoys great status as a classic of American modern dance.
