The participants of this masterclass will be led to explore unconventional physical textures by altering their mind-sets throughout a series of intensive exercises.  From there, they will investigate how a consistent musical frame like the Winterreise can have a powerful influence over the creation of unique and personal movement material. At last, they will be guided to collect these experiences and apply them on some of the piece’s original material.

Samir Calixto
Samir Calixto was born in Brazil and studied drama, dance and classical music at the University of São Paulo University and the Conservatory of São Paulo City. In 1999 he won first prize with his solo Eros at the Nascente/Abril Festival. A year after his graduation (2004) he crossed the ocean to Europe and decided to focus on his dance career. He developed himself as a dancer both self-taught and by collaboration with many choreographers he met in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe.
