Masterclass
Masterclass Nederlands Dans Theater I
Double You by Jiří Kylián was made in 1994 for dancer Gary Christ for what was then Nederlands Dans Theater III. It is a solo in which a man, against a backdrop of time passing, portrays the ups and downs of life in less than fifteen minutes through masterful body language. The music is by Johann Sebastian Bach. The master class includes a warming up and teaching of a part of the choreography.
The dancers of Nederlands Dans Theater 1 are well known for their great class and virtuosity. They are at the top of their dance career and know as no other how to get the company's repertoire across to the audience. Together with the famous resident choreographers Paul Lightfoot and Sol León, various guest choreographers (like Kylián, Pite, Inger, Naharin) and artists from other disciplines, the dancers create six new ballets per season. The master class will bethought by one of the dancers of NDT I.
