On Sunday, November 4 2007, the third edition of the Dansparade will take place. Around one thousand amateur dancers from all over the province of South Holland will dance their way down a route one and a half kilometer long through the city center of The Hague. A wide variety of original, creative and imaginative ‘ambulant choreographies’ are a guarantee for an enormous diversity in dance and a feast for the eyes of the public. The parade will conclude with a spectacular finale at the Spuiplein. The theme of this year’s Dansparade is enchanting! Nineteen dancing schools from The Hague and wide surrounding area have gone to work with this idea and have created their own choreography. With all the time and energy these groups have put into this project, they may truly be called the key players of the parade.
Final
After watching the parade en route, spectators may take their seats on one of the bleachers around the Spuiplein and enjoy the overwhelming closing event of the Dansparade 2007. This is scheduled for 16:00 hrs. at the Spuiplein with a mass choreography to the well-known strains of the ‘Bolero’ by Ravel. The choreography is a creation by Thom Stuart (De Dutch Don’t Dance Division). A great project staged especially for this occasion. The Dansparade cannot be seen from the Spuiplein, it ends at the corner of the Spui and Kalvermarkt.
The route
The route for the Dansparade is yet to be established. It will certainly run through the Spui and end at the corner of the Kalvermarkt. The Dansparade cannot be seen from the Spuiplein, where only the finale will be performed. There will be sufficient time between the end of the Dansparade and the start of the finale to give spectators the opportunity to come to the Spuiplein and find a spot on one of the bleachers. The official route will be published on www.hollanddancefestival.com as soon as it is established.
Flyer
A special Dansparade flyer contains even more information about the Dansparade, choreographies and participating groups. These flyers will be available from the end of September in various theatres and The Hague Uitburo. In addition, this flyer will also be distributed at various points along the route of the Dansparade.
