The Hague is the Dance City of international stature. This is in part thanks to the Holland Dance Festival under the inspired leadership of Samuel Wuersten. Last year he initiated the Holland Dance Events together with the Lucent Danstheater: international dance programming to bridge the gap in between Holland Dance festivals. Wuersten, ‘To reinforce the image of dance city, you have to show special dance production throughout the season. That is exactly what we have done with the Holland Dance Events. The first year of Holland Dance Events was a huge success. We see that we’re on the right track and will prolong the Holland Dance Events in the 2007-2008 season, when the Holland Dance Festival is planned.

That means twice as much to enjoy in the way of international dance programming. Performances that are unique. In the Netherlands and on an international level. Dance companies with fantastic productions. During the Holland Dance Festival and Holland Dance Events.
